For my recent getaway, I stayed at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa from August 27-29, and it was a truly luxurious experience. Nestled in the Algarve’s picturesque Vilamoura, this resort-style property is the perfect blend of relaxation, recreation, and sophistication. Here's an in-depth look at my stay.

This Hilton property is a sprawling, resort-style hotel, offering a sense of grandeur and tranquility from the moment you arrive. The beautifully landscaped gardens and contemporary architecture create a serene environment that feels worlds away from the everyday hustle. The property’s extensive amenities cater to all types of travelers, from families to couples and even solo adventurers.
Amenities That Impress
Pools Galore
The resort features six pools, including three large outdoor pools and a serene indoor pool perfect for relaxation. Each pool offers a unique vibe, whether you're soaking up the sun, enjoying poolside drinks, or seeking a quieter setting for a peaceful swim.
Spa Bliss: 7 Seven Spa
The 7 Seven Spa is one of Portugal’s largest and a highlight of the resort. I indulged in a rejuvenating massage, but the spa also offers facials, body scrubs, hydrotherapy, and aromatherapy sessions. The serene atmosphere, modern equipment, and expertly designed treatments provide an unmatched wellness experience
Family-Friendly Fun
The Paradise Island Kids Club is a haven for younger guests, offering engaging activities like arts and crafts, outdoor games, and themed events. It's a well-supervised environment, giving parents peace of mind while they enjoy other amenities.
Dining Options
With five restaurants and bars, the culinary options are diverse. During my stay, the complimentary breakfast buffet stood out, featuring fresh pastries, made-to-order omelets, and local specialties. Other dining highlights include Aquarela for Mediterranean-inspired poolside meals and Cilantro, offering contemporary Portuguese cuisine
Golfing Paradise
Now, I don’t golf. But for those of you that do the resort boasts a 12-hole golf course, ideal for players of all skill levels. It’s surrounded by lush landscapes and is designed for both beginners and seasoned golfers. Additionally, guests have access to five of the Algarve's top courses nearby, making this a true golfer’s retreat

Convenient Beach and Marina Access
The resort provides a free shuttle service to Vilamoura Marina and the stunning Falesia Beach. Coordinating the shuttle was seamless, I didn’t head to the marina, but did spend a nice day on the beach! The beach had beautiful cliffs, lots of options for food, loungers and umbrellas for rent, and pristine sands. I was there in August, so it was VERY busy! But I found a chair easily and had a nice day relaxing by the ocean!
Hilton Honors and Added Value
As a Hilton Honors member, I appreciated earning points during my stay, adding extra value to an already luxurious experience. This is a great perk for frequent travelers. I am a firm believer that if you travel often to try and stick to one or two hotel groups, the more points you accumulate, the more rewards for you!
The Cost
While the experience was exceptional, it comes at a premium. My two-night stay cost over $800 CAD, and only breakfast is included. Meals, drinks, and some activities are an added expense, which makes it less inclusive compared to some all-inclusive resorts. However, the high-quality offerings make it worth considering for those willing to splurge.
